my ScoThia fan fiction- "Eventually" part 1:

*Note: This is not entirely a fiction. It is inspired by true events. The dialogues aren’t exactly what were said in real life. There are certain parts of this that maybe didn’t happen at all. But there maybe some which happened but didn’t happen exactly as it is in real life.

When I started writing this, Thia was already eliminated. (This fan fiction ended when she was eliminated). When I finished writing this fan fiction, there was nothing significant ScoThia moment that happened after the ScoThia moment when Thia was eliminated. Scotty’s tweet about the moon was not included here because it didn’t happen yet when I finished writing this. That’s why this is a part 1. The part 2 will consist of those that happened after Thia was eliminated. And will end at a certain significant event. The part 2 may or may not be the last of this fan fiction.

Eventually

No matter how young you are, when love comes around, and even though it is not in your plan, your life will never be the same as before. Whether you notice it or not, one way or another, your life will never be as organized as before. The person will change it and you drastically. Knowing that he’s in love with you, you might fall in love with him after all. No matter how much you avoid it, you’ll never win especially if it’s destined and fated. The two of you are just meant to be.

He dreamed of being an astronaut when he was young. Unfortunately, his mind was not that smart. So, he focused on his skills. He became a baseball player in his school. But his real passion is singing…

She discovered her talent at a very young age. But singing isn’t just her forte. She loves to read and to write. Even though there will be no doubt that she will be successful in her academics and she will have a great career after she finished her education because of her intelligence and wisdom, her top one passion is singing…

He already joined singing contests and won. But he still needed to step up his game.

She won many and lost some singing competitions already, the last competition she joined was a reality talent search on TV. She got as far as the quarter finals. After which, she was eliminated. But that didn’t stop her to move forward.

From North Carolina, he decided to audition in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

She originally planned to audition on this famous singing competition on TV next year but when it was announced that the program was now accepting those with age 15, she persuaded her parents to go to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to audition there from California. Her reason was, the audition in California was at a later date and she didn’t have the patience to wait for it.

These two auditioned at the same venue.

He noticed a pretty Asian girl during the audition. He observed her without being obvious. “She’s ‘unusually’ pretty & cute”, his mind said. He was shocked to have thought of the weird combination- ‘unusually’ pretty & cute. He asked himself silently, “Why and how would someone look ‘unusually’ pretty & cute?” She wasn’t even aware that she definitely got his attention. When he saw her jumping because of joy, then hugging her parents and smiling, he realized that she gets super cute especially when she smiles. Since he’s an American, all his life, he was surrounded with American beauties- blond hairs, blue eyes, very fair skins… It became usual for him to see American beauties since he was living in a place where there was a majority of Americans than any other races. When she passed by him, there was another thing he noticed…she is petite. Indeed, “she is unique”, he thought.

They had to go through so many processes until the Top 24 would be chosen. In Las Vegas, while the hopefuls were waiting for their fate, they had to stand on stage and hold hands. She suddenly suffered from a light electric shock when her hand touched the hand of the guy next to her. She wasn’t used to it. Her emotions were so mix that she didn’t know which stood out. Obviously, she was nervous about the result…and then suddenly this tall country guy was kind of affecting her. Suddenly, it crossed through her mind that he also auditioned in Milwaukee!

While she was performing on stage…

“Hey, why are you smiling like that?” the guy beside him asked.

“Is it forbidden to smile?” he replied.

“Who are you looking at?” the guy couldn’t stop asking.

“No one,” he answered.

“You know what? You’re pretty good at concealing your feelings. No one can really notice it unless you admit it,” the guy grinned.

“So, what are you trying to point out?” he asked curiously & raised one of his eyebrows.

“Do you think you will get in?” the guy asked him.

“I’m not sure. I don’t know,” he answered truthfully.

“Do you think she will get in?” the guy asked as he pointed his finger to the girl on stage that just finished singing.

He couldn’t help but smile. “I wouldn’t be surprise if she will…”

When he finished singing on stage, the girls in the audience were shouting and cheering out loud. But she was just silently giggling. She isn’t the type who would go crazy about a guy. She felt weird though…It was as if the song was directed to her. She asked herself, “Will that tall country guy get in the Top 24?” Most likely…he will.

When it was announced that he made it in the Top 24, he was so happy. Why would he be sad? Then, he realized…she was still waiting for the result. There were only few girls left. Suddenly, he got tensed. He thought, “What I’m feeling is nothing compared to what she’s feeling right now”.

On the other hand, she was hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. There were only two girls left. One of them will get in to the Top 24. She was so relieved when the result was revealed. She made it. When she was out of the room, she and her mother hugged each other very tightly. “Thank you so much Mom for all the inspiration” were the words that first came out from her.

He was the third one to the youngest while she was the youngest among them all.

Well, he was happy to be in the Top 24 because that was such a huge step for him. It was as if his dreams were slowly becoming real. He wouldn’t deny that he was also happy for those who also made it in the Top 24 especially…the Asian girl. He hoped he could stay calm. Unfortunately, he couldn’t.  One of his fellow guy contestants asked him, “Are you sure you’re okay?” To which he replied, “Yeah, I feel great…the girls have not yet arrived?”

“Here they are…the girls have arrived,” the reporters shouted.

Having a heart attack would probably be an understatement for him as he saw her. She was wearing a very cute v-neck mini dress with a combination of colors white above the waist and very light pink below the waist, her hair was straightened, a pink rose on her right ear, a white sock and a pair of brown shoes with not-so-high heels, and a necklace of some sort. It was the first time he saw her wearing a dress that would sort of exclaim “I’m a Girl!”. Since before, he actually concluded that she’s not really the “girlie-girl” type. It was his first time to see her with her hair straight because it was usually curly. The pink rose on her ear was definitely catchy. Since he was born, that was his first time to see a girl who would wear a flower on her ear, especially a flower like a Rose. If all girls would wear like that at a party with a theme- Prom, he would manage to distinguish her from the others. If only the party was a real prom, he would ask her to dance with him. “May I have this dance?” It was so difficult for him to keep his eyes off her. He thought, she just looked MORE “unusually pretty & cute” which made her stood out. He wished he could really get to talk to her sooner.

When he saw her posing for pictures and smiling genuinely, he wonder why he couldn’t manage to stop smiling with her. Every time she smiles, he could notice it was just so natural and real. It radiates through his heart…

They became very busy because of the preparation for their Top 24 performance. Rehearsing was what kept them really busy. The guys were the first ones to perform and then the next day, it was the girls’ turn. Of course, everybody was worried for the result. They both performed great. The judges had positive feedbacks and they praised them. But their fate was on the people’s hands. Will they have enough votes to make it in the Top 13?

He was the first one to be called who made it in the Top 13 while she was the seventh.

When it was announced that he made it in to the Top 13, he was asked to go to the designated place of those who would make it in to the Top 13. But as he made his way, he passed through her. The girls were sitting on the side of the stage. They were facing the stage. As he passed through her, she stretched her left hand while she was sitting. She was actually offering his hand to congratulate him by shaking his hand. He was taken by a complete surprise. She was also smiling. How could he not resist her? She’s such a sweetheart.

Moments later, he observed that as his crush went towards the center stage with two other girl contestants, she was already so emotional. He couldn’t blame her especially because she is a girl and she is younger than he is. She had less control of her emotions. The girl beside him, her best friend in the competition, shouted her name and cheered for her. He realized that the two youngest girls in the group were already very close to each other. After it was announced that she made it in the Top 13, she already went towards the part of the stage where he and the other five were. One of the girl contestants, who made it in the Top 13, hugged her and then her fellow girl contestant and best friend at the same time hugged her also. It was a long hug between the two best friends.

At the end of the show, the Top 13 were asked to come over the center stage. Finally, since before the Top 24 was announced, they were standing next to each other on stage again.

She is the youngest in the singing contest’s history, so far.  

Since him, her and her best friend were still minors, family members or relatives of theirs should take turns in living in the same house where the contestants would live. The three minors had to balance everything because they also had several hours a day studying. On top of that, they need to memorize and learn their songs. They have rehearsals, recordings, photo shoots, video shoots, events that they have to attend, interviews, etc.

At the premiere of a movie, the contestants had to look great especially the girls.

“Wow! She looks great! She just killed me…” he suddenly exclaimed.

One of his fellow guy contestants was shocked with what he heard so he wanted to make sure. He asked him, “Who are you talking to?”

“I was talking to no one. I didn’t say anything, did I?” he replied cautiously.

“I thought I heard you shout and I heard something like somebody just killed you. Are you really okay? Maybe you’re just sick or something,” the guy said confusedly.

“I’m fine…In fact, I’m super fine. I feel great!” he answered happily.

She looked like an angel especially when she would smile, he thought. The wings were the only ones missing for her to really be an angel. She was wearing a sexy white v-neck mini-dress with a strap. There was a cute belt around her waist. She had a simple but cute necklace around her neck. Her hair was straightened, and was parted half above. Her hair draped in front so as to cover the sexy v-neck of her dress. Her nail polish was light pink. It was just plainly simple because there were really no accessories and her face glowed with only a light make-up but she looked great that way, he discovered.

On one night, she couldn’t sleep. She decided to go to the kitchen to drink something except coffee.

“What are you doing?” she asked him curiously. When she arrived in the kitchen, he was already there. She wanted to know why he was there…maybe he also couldn’t sleep.

He was surprised that she was there. He was just about to finish making his tea when she arrived. He didn’t expect it but maybe it was already his opportunity for him to make a good impression to her.

“I’m about to finish making my tea. If you like, I’ll make a tea for you,” he said quite nervously.

“That would be nice. Thank you,” she replied.

He saw her smile. He became pressured to make the tea to taste great, for her sake. Then he thought, he just needed to pour his heart into it.

“Here…” he offered her tea. “Don’t be afraid to tell me if it doesn’t taste good.”

She smiled again. Her smile itself was even brighter than the moon during that night. He just likes her that way. Then he realized, his heart was beating rapidly. He needs not to be obvious.

“It tastes great! You know, I couldn’t sleep that’s why I went down here in the kitchen to drink something except coffee, of course,” she said joyfully.

It was his turn to smile. He felt great having that conversation with her. He listened to her attentively. Yes, he listened with his eyes not taking off her.

“Then, I heard something here in the kitchen when I was already near the door. I didn’t want to think it was the ghost making that noise. I continued anyway. I found you here. Honestly, this tea you made for me tastes really great that it successfully makes me sleepy because that’s what I really want right now, to sleep,” she continued as she was holding the cup and occasionally looking at him.

“Well…I’m glad to hear that…that the tea tastes not bad and that you’re already sleepy,” he said almost stuttering.

“Good night and thanks for your sweet tea, Scotty,” she said as she put down the cup. Then, she looked at his direction and smiled.

“Good night too, Thia. Sweet dreams…” he said happily.

She went out of the kitchen while he still couldn’t recover from what just happened. He put his right hand on his left chest. He wanted to feel his heart. He wasn’t at all disappointed with what he discovered.

After one of the contestants got eliminated, he got the chance to talk with his baseball team mates and friends.

They talked for a few minutes until the topic of their conversation was something that he didn’t expect.

“Who’s your crush among the girls?” one of them asked him.

“Did I hear you right? Did you just ask me that question?” he said surprisingly.

“Yeah, you heard it right. Who is your crush?”

“Will you please lower down your voices…Somebody else might hear you,” he said nervously.

They went to a different place where lesser people might hear.

“Why did you ask me that?”

“We’re just curious…” they replied.

“Curious?”

“We heard the same name from your mom several times. She noticed something you know. She accidentally mentions her name. Your Dad knew something from your Mom and something from his own,” one of them explained.

“Mom and Dad? Don’t tell me that your real reason why you are here is because you wanted me to admit or deny it?”

“We also noticed…We wanted confirmation. Besides, we tell our secrets to each other,” they said.

“So, you really want to know? You really want me to tell the truth?”

They nodded.

“I’ll tell you but don’t spread it,” he warned them.

“Why will we spread it? We’re not girls who are into gossiping?” they defended their selves.

“So, what are you doing now? This is not gossiping?” he questioned them.

“She’s coming…” one of them exclaimed.

“Who?” Then he turned his head to the direction where she’s supposedly coming from.

“Don’t sweat out that much. We’re just testing you. Now, don’t kill us by making us wait. Tell us.”

“Thia,” he whispered to them.

“We didn’t hear it clearly. Will you please tell it again?” they requested.

As he was going to whisper her name to them again, they said, “We’re just kidding. We heard it clearly and loud enough.”

“Thia!” one of them suddenly shouted.

He quickly covered his mouth. “Don’t shout. She’ll hear it.”

“She’ll hear her name but she wouldn’t know why and from whom.”

They smiled.

“So, are you going to leave me now?” he asked them.

“She’s the same girl you know…” one of them admitted but he didn’t finish saying it because he knew it was already clear to Scotty. “We’re cool man. We just needed a confirmation and now that we got it, we’re satisfied. See you next time. We have to leave now. Good luck.”

“So you’re okay with it? No one is against it? You’re not surprised at all because your guess was right. By the way, what’s with the Good Luck?” he asked curiously.

“Good luck with…Bye.” They left already.  

Colors of the Wind

The next week, during the result again, the two sat close to each other- there was only one person between them.

As it was his custom, he examined her from head to toe. She was so cute that night with her Pocahontas look. As she stood up with the person in between them, she was smiling. They were called on the center stage. He couldn’t help but follow his gaze on her. He was safe from elimination but would she also be safe?

It was a huge relief for her. She was safe again from elimination. At backstage, after the elimination, she had the chance to meet some of her relatives who were there to watch her live. While she was having a little chit chat with them, she heard her best friend in the competition calling her. Her best friend was trying to find her.  After a few minutes…

“Thia! So, you’re here! I was trying to find you!” her best friend told her. When she noticed that she have some companions, she said to them, “Sorry. It’s great that you’re here! I hope you enjoyed the show. I didn’t mean to just butt in…” She smiled to them.

“Lala, these are some of my relatives. Guys, this is Lala, I mean…Lauren,” she introduced them to each other. They shook each other’s hands. Lala was enjoying the introduction.

“It’s nice to meet you all. Thia forgot to mention, we’re BFF… We’re really best friends, you know,” she said giddily. Lala and Thia hugged each other.

“Oh, my gosh! I totally forgot! Scotty was just right behind me. I asked for his help to find you. Where is he?” she suddenly remembered.

“I’m glad that you already remembered me…” he said as he came towards them from no where.

“Since Scotty’s here… Scotty, I want you to meet some of my relatives,” Thia told him. She continued, “Guys, this is Scotty.”

“It’s nice to meet you,” he said as he shook each of their hands. He noticed that they are all Filipinos like her.

“Why don’t we take some pictures of all us together?” Thia recommended.

“Yeah, great idea!” Lala agreed. “Come on Scotty, you’re not gonna escape because you’re included,” she told him.

“Will it be okay?” he asked Thia.

“Of course, you should join us. We’re all family here, after all. No one should be left behind,” she assured him. She had that huge smile again. Only that time, it was so huge that her eyes couldn’t be seen already. Then, he just felt his heart radiated. He was so touched with what she said. He was getting to know her better.

Before he went to sleep that night, he wanted to enumerate some other things that he admires about her. She’s a reserve and quiet person. She’s soft-spoken. She rarely talks. But once she does, one will notice that her words are with wisdom and intelligence. She thinks first of what she’s going to say before she tells it. Aside from the brain, she has such a good heart. She’s a very peaceful person. She has weaknesses but there’s really nothing bad about her. She got the brain, the heart, the looks, the skills and the talent. What a girl!

Muhammad ali event

A few days later, the contestants attended an event. They all together posed for pictures when they arrived there. There was more than one camera taking their pictures on the certain red carpet. He was so blessed that night because he got to pose for pictures beside her…close to her. Their body-not their heads- were leaning towards each other.  He took the opportunity to put his arm around her shoulder and to get hold and quite squeeze her upper arm. No wonder why he was smiling like that. When he got to see the picture, he noticed that the two of them were looking at the same camera or the same direction while their other fellow contestants were looking at some other else!

He flashed back a bit…he discovered that it seemed like they were in synch some of the times without them being aware of it.

Is that some indication? Are they soul mates?

On stage, at that event, they had to perform. He was sitting beside her but there was already a space between them. On her other side, her best friend was sitting there.

The space is keeping them apart.

They were sitting on a high chair. He suddenly noticed that they sat alike. The two of them were not really sitting fully on the chair. Their right feet were touching the ground on the left while their left feet were in front of the chair and not touching the ground. Technically speaking, half of their butts were not on the chair. Was that another coincidence? Or was it the fact that they are just naturally in synch because they are soul mates? And during that time also, the other fact was, their left hands were both on the side of their left thighs.

There were some times while they were all singing that he was just not aware that he was already looking at her. He couldn’t restrain himself even if he should especially because people were looking.

Heatwave

On another performance night, they still didn’t get to perform consecutively. She was the second one to perform. She was wearing a very cute and sexy tube mini-dress with very high-heels black shoes.  The dress and the shoes accentuated her legs…smooth, fair and sexy.

One day, during their study period…

“Hey, have you seen Lauren?” she asked him while he was still studying.

“I guess she’s out there somewhere. Actually, I didn’t notice her,” he replied as he dropped his pen.

She looked at him as she sat beside him on the couch.

“So, you’re not finished yet…” she said gently.

“Yeah…Let me guess, you’re finished with yours?”

She laughed. “I think I should leave. You should continue what you’re doing. Besides, I don’t want to be a disruption…Bye… See you later.”

He watched him as she left. He wonders where she would go next.

“She’s always the first one to finish,” he told himself silently. “I guess I need to finish this faster.” He grinned.

Minutes later….while she is on the balcony, he came to approach her.

“Hey…” he took the courage to say. She turned her head to him and then she smiled. When he was already standing beside her, he continued, “I thought you were with Lauren…but I found you here. Are you admiring the view?”

“I guess you could say that. It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”

“Yeah…” He wasn’t really looking at the nature, although he also admires it like she does. He was looking at her. He wasn’t sure if she noticed it but maybe she didn’t. “You’re such a gentle spirit…”

She turned her head to look at him. “I’m sorry…what did you say?”

“You’re such a gentle spirit.”

“Really?”

“That was meant to be a compliment,” he emphasized to her.

“Thank you,” she replied. After she smiled, she turned her view back at the nature.

“You’re refreshing to look at…” his mind was saying.

Lala was trying to find Thia and then Scotty. After some time, she managed to find them on the balcony. When she arrived, she saw the two standing next to each other and are both admiring the view. They both seemed not to notice her. The silence was deafening. Maybe, they just finished talking, she thought.

“Come on guys, let’s go,” she exclaimed to get their attention. When both of them looked at her, she led the way. As Lala turned back…he accidentally held Thia’s hand. Their hand clasped. It was as if he was leading her. When he noticed it, he removed his hand. She was looking at him. She seemed more surprised than him.

He didn’t know what to say or to do next. He tried to read her mind by looking at her. But instead of getting the answer, he got more confused.

It took some time and quite a silence.

“I’m sorry” are the first words that came out from him.

“It was an accident. You don’t need to say sorry,” she said calmly. Those were what she managed to say.

It was such an awkward moment.

During their next performance night, they got to perform consecutively. Performing every week is such a pressure but it was more of a pressure for him to stand next to her on stage. While he was performing, she was on the backstage. She would get a glimpse of him on the monitor while someone was busy with her make-up.

That night, he couldn’t sleep. He didn’t know why. He decided to go to the kitchen. He’ll make a tea for himself. Just as he was making his way to the kitchen, so was Thia also.

“I couldn’t sleep. I don’t know why. So, I’m gonna make some tea. Can’t you sleep also?” he asked her.

“Honestly, I just suddenly crave for a tea.”

They both made their way to the kitchen.

“Okay. I think, you just sit and relax. I’ll make our tea,” he suggested.

“No. You already made one for me before. I’ll help you. Let me help you…” she requested.

She made her way towards him. She already started to help him when he got to reply, “Okay. I think I have no choice, haven’t I?”

She smiled. When they were about to go to the table to drink their tea, he offered, “Let me hold these for you.”

“Are you sure?” she asked.

“Yeah. I’ll manage to hold these two. Go on…I’ll follow.”

“Since you insist, okay…”

As she walked towards the table, she got to look back at him. She noticed that he was quite shaking. When the tea cups were already on the table, she saw that nothing was spilled.

“You know, every time I read, the tea would always be place beside the books. I would be afraid that it would spill and the books would get wet. But it won’t happen…” she related.

“I see that you love reading.”

“Yes, I do. I love reading…I love writing. I would write anything that would come into my mind. I love poetry. I also love messing around my guitar and the piano…” she cheerfully enumerated.

“Those weren’t obvious,” he replied.

“You’re right. What’s really obvious is my love for music and singing,” she agreed. “Wait, I suddenly remember, can I see you move your ears? It’s been quite a long time since I last saw it. It’s fun seeing it personally and closely.”

“Are you making fun of my ears?” he jokingly teased her.

She laughed softly.

“If you insist, I’ll be happy to grant your request. Here you go.” He moved his ears several times. After a few minutes…

“I don’t have that kind of skill or talent…How come I couldn’t do that?” she said joyfully.

“Maybe because it wasn’t meant for you since it was meant for me?” They both laughed. “I guess I’m lucky to have this skill or talent. It seems it’s admirable.”

“Can I walk with you to your room and be a gentleman? So you will arrive safely,” he asked her permission. He was surprised that he suddenly thought of that. But he was more surprised that he actually had enough courage to mention that to her.

“Will I be in danger if I will walk alone?” she asked back.

“What if you’ll fall? Who would rescue you?”

“Fine. You always insist…” she replied.

“I do not.”

“Yes, you do.”

“No, I don’t. You do.”

“Yes, you do. No, I don’t.”

“Yes, you do. No, I don’t.”

“No, I don’t. Yes, you do.”

“No, I don’t. No, you don’t.”

“No, you don’t. No, I don’t.”

“There you go. It’s settled then.”

“You out witted me there,” she realized.

“No, I didn’t.”

“Yes, you did,” she insisted.

“Yes, I did,” he admitted.

They both smiled.

When they arrived in front of the girls’ room…

“Good night, Thi,” he told her silently. He didn’t know why he suddenly called her Thi.

She was surprised to hear that he called her Thi. Only her family calls her Thi, although one of her fellow girl contestants calls her Thi Thi. Why did he call her that and how come?

He was actually asking the same thing.

It took some time before she managed to speak. “Good night, too.”

She hugged him. He couldn’t recover… What would he do? He hugged her back but not too tight. He didn’t want her to think bad about him and that he was an opportunist. That was as much as he could do for now. He certainly didn’t want to ruin her friendship and most importantly, her trust.

Elimination- bottom three

The next day, it was another elimination/results night. Neither of the two, especially him, knew and expected what would happen after. She was one of the two who were eliminated that night.

Every elimination night, she would prepare herself in case she would be the one to leave. & indeed, that night, she had to leave the competition. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst, she kept reminding herself. As the youngest in the competition, many would expect that she would not handle her elimination well. They expected her to be so emotional. But, they were wrong.

He couldn’t help but admire and fall for her even more when he really witnessed how great she handled her elimination. He asked himself, who would expect that she had that kind of grace and maturity? Believe it or not, he never doubted her.

Then, there was a flashback in his mind. The last that he remembered was what happened the night before. Just as they were getting closer…she had to leave. Why? “Why does it have to happen now? Don’t I deserve more time with her? Don’t we deserve to have more time together? Would it be wrong for us to stay together a little longer?” Those were his questions. Definitely, there’s a reason and purpose why it happened.

As the video tribute for her and the other contestant, who was also eliminated, was about to be finished playing on the screen, the safe contestants went towards the center stage. When the video ended, it was visible on the tv screen that they hugged each other first. And as they were hugging each other, it was obvious that their clothes were color coordinated. Was it just a coincidence or fate?

The hug…. was perhaps, the most precious moment.

He is a gentleman. He wouldn’t take advantage of it. His right hand was on the back of her right shoulder. His other hand was just below his right one. His head was in a position where he smelled her hair…That was what gave it away……

“I’ll miss you…” he whispered. He made sure that it wasn’t that loud enough. What if the time would just stop right there? So, he could just be that close to her…so, they could just stay like that. What if he would not let go?

Her hand was comfortably resting on his upper back. As they were letting go of each other from that hug, his left hand was on her right upper arm (it was not just on it…he was quite holding it) while the right one was still on the back of her right shoulder. And his head was looking at her but she was not looking back to his direction. Once she did, their lips would probably meet. He was just looking at her like that while her right hand was on his middle side. They were still not totally separated that time. In fact, they were still close to each other.

That moment was precious in more ways and reasons than one.
