Harry Potter vs Twilight at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards! Who's your bet?

Harry Potter and Twilight will compete against each other in several awards in this year's MTV Movie Awards which will held this weekend. 

Twilight has 8 nominations while Harry Potter has 6.

Personally, I am a Harry Potter fan. I've read the seven Harry Potter books. I have watched all the Harry Potter movies, the last one was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1(the seventh movie in the series). The very last movie in the Harry Potter film series is the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 which will be released this July (2011).

I know that the Harry Potter film franchise is the highest (& most successful) film franchise of all time. When the seven Harry Potter movies is combined, the gross is about $6.3 billion. And that number will surely be added more with the latest and the last (eight movie in the series), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2. 

The fact is, in the list of highest-grossing films of all time, all the Harry Potter movies are in the top 30. As of now, in the list of highest-grossing films of all time Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (film) ($974,733,550) is the 8th highest-grossing film of all time, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 ($954,501,070) is the 10th, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (film) ($938,212,738) is the 11th, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (film) ($933,959,197) is the 12th, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (film) ($895,921,036) is the 17th, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (film) ($878,643,482) is the 20th, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (film) ($795,634,070) is the 29th and after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 will be released, it might land in the top 10.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon is currently the 41st highest-grossing film of all time. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is only 43rd. & I'm sure those ranking will even get lower as the years pass because there will be more movies that are way better than Twilight. & so, more people will watch those movies.

Strictly speaking, although the Twilight saga already won much awards, the Harry Potter movies were nominated & won in some of the most prestigious and respected (most important) award giving bodies. But I'll only mention the most important one (because if I'll mention all, this will take a little more longer), The Academy Awards (best known as Oscars) anyone?! Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (film) was nominated for 3 Oscars- Best Art Direction, Best Costume Design & Best Original Score at the 74th Academy Awards. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (film) was nominated for 2 Oscars- Best Original Score & Best Visual Effects at the 77th Academy Awards. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (film) was nominated for Best Art Direction at the 78th Academy Awards. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (film) was nominated for Best Cinematography 82nd Academy Awards. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 was nominated for 2 Oscars- Best Art Direction & Best Visual Effects at the 83rd Academy Awards.

Technically speaking, they received nominations and awards from the best of the bests. When you look at the facts and figures, Harry Potter is actually the one's on top rather than the other one. Harry Potter fans are more than the Twilight fans. When it comes with acting, the story and characters, effects, etc, Harry Potter is the one that stands out. The reason why Twilight is where it is now is because of the VERY ACTIVE fans or rather FEMALE giggling fans of the two hunks in Twilight. Without these two hunks, I bet Twilight wouldn't be as successful as it is now and people wouldn't really care. I hope Twilight fans will admit that their storyline in every movie is like the same...LOVE LOVE LOVE...love triangle...two hunks fighting over one woman. I mean, come on! Are the characters maturing? The characters in Harry Potter, you can really see them mature. In Harry Potter, the storyline is very unique in every movie. There's a wider range in every aspect in Harry Potter than in Twilight. I'd rather be a wizard than a vampire or a werewolf. You see, wizards are really genius individuals. 

 Harry Potter is for all ages. & the fact that it made a history in films, it will forever be remembered. A good movie shouldn't be all about kissing or s**. 

Besides, "one of the best female character in literary history" is in Harry Potter, Hermione Granger. She's a perfect role model to other girls/woman especially young ones. Good values and great thinking. Great/genius brain and good heart. Hermione Granger is really better than the female protagonist in Twilight. Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies, is also a great role model to girls. She's really very smart. She almost  studied in the University of Cambridge (England) (I'm sure you know this university because it's one of the most prestigious universities in the world) but she chose to study in Brown University(US). She managed to finish a year there and as of now, she temporarily stopped from studying because of several work projects. Soon, she'll be a college graduate with a degree. Go Emma! She's also a fashion icon. Her estimated net worth is $32 million, knowing that she just turned 21 last April. She's still so young but her money/income is just woooooossssssshhhhhh..........Guinness Book of World Records named her last year as the highest-grossing actress for the Decade because the Harry Potter movies she was in grossed $5.4 billion worldwide. So, where is the female protagonist of Twilight? She got nothing against Emma. She's not as all around as Emma. Emma can almost do everything and she's a fast learner (she has many skills, she writes, dances, sings...etc and she's also into sports). The female protagonist of Twilight is just maybe more beautiful or hotter (and taller...and she has a boyfriend) than Emma but other than that, Emma is wooooosssssshhh in most ways.

Maybe Twilight will win most if not all the awards they're nominated in at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. I will not be surprised because Twilight is a favorite in MTV Movie Awards. But Harry Potter deserves it more to win those awards that they are competing against Twilight.


I know that there might be Twilight fans out here. But maybe there are more Harry Potter fans who are here in this blog.
