Christina Grimmie’s The Match Breaker Trailer 2 Reaction and Review
I was very much looking forward
to the first trailer of The Match Breaker. This is after Christina Grimmie’s
Without Him music video was released. Honestly, as a supporter, this film is
the only one we’re still waiting for other than the yet to be released music
that Christina left here in this world.
I didn’t really like that
trailer. I really hoped that there would be something better. Then last
weekend, the second trailer for The Match Breaker was finally out. And I have
to admit, it was way better than the first one.
We already know that this is
Christina’s first feature film. This is pretty much her acting debut. Sadly, it
was also her last. But before we go to that route, let’s discuss how the second
trailer was.
We see Emily, Christina's character, singing. As per usual, she does it without lip syncing. Her voice is as incredible as it always was. She looks to pretty..... as in super pretty. I also love the freaking dress she's wearing. I want to wear that one too. But I still would not pull it off as Christina does.
I love this shot above. She just looks so happy. I so love her smile... the one we used to see. Her hair style is on point. The ring that she's wearing, though.
Can I just say how I love everything that she was wearing throughout the second trailer (and perhaps the whole film)? They all looked so perfect for her. She's already as she is but those dresses made her so much prettier. She's oozing with such sophistication. We all know that Christina is not really a girly-girl. She had admitted that. But seeing her wearing these awesome dresses, she seems like a princess. The only thing missing was a tiara.
I love seeing her smile, every single time. It warms my heart. I often unintentionally smile too.
Seriously, the color matching..... How cute is that?
Christina's eyes...... and her chin in the screen shot below. I'd melt if she stares at me like that.
Ethan: I’m glad you’re back
Emily: Yeah me too. It feels like home.
It quite broke my heart when I heard her say "it feels like home". She's definitely at home now. And we're gonna see her there soon... in God's time.
I appreciate the camera angle in this shot below.
Christina was able to both sing and act in this movie. And not quite surprisingly, she's both good at it. Of course, singing is still where she's best at....the one she's definitely shines in. But, her acting here is actually, better than what I thought it would.
Her acting in The Ballad of Jessica Blue music video series should have prepared me for this. Gosh. It's really a shame... What a huge lost to this world and to everyone. I could imagine what she could have achieved.
If you want an objective comment about her acting.... we should do that after we get to watch the whole film. But if we based on this second trailer, I'd say without bias, Christina pulled off her lines....most especially her facial expressions.
I don't like cliche stories. I waste my time watching such movies. But I think, the story is interesting. I find it funny.... I prefer the comedy part of this film more than the romantic side. I have yet to see if Christina's character Emily has a passable chemistry with Ethan. Otherwise, I would not buy into their romance. Though I might squeal at those romantic gestures.
Ethan: I take dysfunctional systems and disassemble them for
diagnosis.
I love that line above my Ethan. It's just so funny. I laughed so hard...especially the way the line was delivered. It was so smooth. Emily's reaction is also freaking perfect. By far, my most favorite scene in the whole second trailer.
We all know that Christina filmed this last year. On the other hand, the promotional video below was shot this year. Her hair color will give that away. Now, the fact that this promotional video was included in the second trailer pulls heart strings all over again.
Dang. The very moment she started talking....... it's heartbreaking. This world lost an angel.
This is probably the best shot of Christina in the whole promotional video at the end of the second trailer. We used to see her with that huge smile. And it just softens even the hardest of hearts.
I love the second trailer. It makes me genuinely excited for the movie... not only because of Christina's presence. I think, it will be a fun light-hearted film.... just like Christina.
I miss her still... like every single day. I'm inspired to live my life to the fullest. I have grown much closer to God. My personal relationship with Jesus has gotten stronger. I credit it all to Christina. She left a great legacy. I'll see her up there. We all will.
